Homecoming at Ten16: A Celebration of Recovery and Connection

Homecoming at Ten16: A Celebration of Recovery and Connection

Celebrating the 7th annual Ten16 Day, including a special poem from Karen B, a residential staff.

On a crisp October afternoon, more than one hundred Ten16 alumni and their families returned home to celebrate Ten16 Day—a day of reconnection, reflection, and gratitude. The grounds were alive with the colors of fall and the sounds of laughter, conversation, and music from Jinglefoot, a band featuring one of our staff. Guests shared a meal together, listened as alumni told their stories of hope and renewal, and joined guided walks along our forest therapy trail. It was a day that embodied what Ten16 stands for—community, healing, and the power of shared recovery.

One of our team members captured the spirit of the day in the following poem, written as a tribute to all who have walked this path and continue to inspire others through their courage and light.

Today, among the leaves turned gold and red,

Lining the path you’ve each tread.

Through storms and silence, fear and grace,

You found yourself, you found your place.

You walked through nights that felt too long,

Still in your heart, you carried a song.

A quiet hope, a stubborn spark—

That led you forward through the dark.

Ten16—more than just a name,

 A light, a hand, a steady flame.

Where broken parts began to mend,

Where strangers became guide and friend.

Now you stand with clearer eyes,

 Grounded feet beneath brighter skies.

You’ve earned this joy, this breath, this peace—

The promises coming true, as blessings increase.

So let the day be filled with grace,

 With every story, every face.

You are the proof, the living sign,

That healing holds a sacred line.

Not every road is smooth or straight,

But love still walks us through the gate.

Welcome back — this place is yours,

We’re grateful to have you come through the doors.
