RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT
What is residential care?
Also known as “rehab” or “inpatient drug rehab,” residential treatment is a program to help you overcome substance misuse and addiction. You’ll live in Ten16’s private rehab center (outside of Midland) and receive intensive care, usually lasting between 26 and 28 days for those who successfully complete the program.
At our Mid-Michigan alcohol and drug rehab center, you can expect:
- A safe, sober living environment
- Essential life skills from those in recovery themselves
- Fellowship & community with others in recovery
- Clinical interventions based on a personal assessment of your needs
- Group, family & individual counseling
- Social & recreational activities
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we do not profit from clients or their families.

But here’s the truth: YOU have to be ready.
At residential, we can only help people who have an authentic desire to move forward and who are willing to honestly confront what’s ahead.
It’s okay if you’re scared. It’s okay if you’ve tried treatment before, and it didn’t stick. It’s okay if you aren’t 100% confident that it will work.
All we ask is that you commit to doing the work—hand in hand with your peers and with us.

Important information for families
We know that you’re going through a difficult time, and we want to help you, too! In fact, we believe that family members play an integral role in substance misuse and the disease process—as well as in sustainable long-term recovery.
Family members can be inadvertent partners of addictions, even when they mean well. We can help you understand your role in your loved one’s life and, if our client desires, can engage you in treatment through Family Clinical Days, weekly visitation, or other involvement.
Are you currently trying to convince your loved one to seek addiction treatment or inpatient drug and alcohol rehab?
We know how heartbreaking this can be, and we’re here to provide guidance and support as best we can. However, please understand that we cannot begin treatment until the person struggling has had time to reflect and is genuinely ready to begin recovery for themselves. It’s painful to accept, but as much as you want it, you can’t make someone else ready to recover.
So what can you do?
Please encourage your loved one to contact us. We will listen without judgement and provide a safe space to explore addiction treatment options. We do not pressure and will never share their information.

Different drug and alcohol rehab centers in Michigan take different approaches to recovery. At Ten16, our ultimate goal for you is a life free from drugs and alcohol.
We believe that lasting recovery—and the most meaningful, fulfilled life—comes when you stop using substances altogether. That is the freedom that we want for our clients, and it’s what our Central Michigan addiction treatment programs are designed around.
There are other forms of drug and alcohol rehab available (focused on moderation or medication, for instance). These approaches might be right for you, or they might not. Every person is different.
At Ten16, our most successful clients are those who have identified substances as a problem and are open to the idea that quitting drugs and alcohol will be the best path forward for their lives.
