The DeShano Community Foundation has awarded a generous grant to Ten16 Recovery Network, facilitating the establishment of a new office in Gladwin. This initiative underscores the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to enhancing community resources and support services in the region.
“DeShano Community Foundation is pleased to support our local community by partnering with Ten16 Recovery Network and their mission to provide recovery, support, and prevention-related services related to alcohol, drug, and mental health,” said a representative from the Foundation.
Ten16 has maintained an active presence in Gladwin County since 2007, providing outpatient counseling, education, outreach, prevention, and recovery support services. The new office will further solidify this commitment, offering a warm environment where community members are free to drop by, have a coffee, use a computer, and relax, embodying the organization’s belief that recovery happens in community.
Sam Price, President and CEO of Ten16 Recovery Network, emphasized the significance of this development: “We are deeply grateful for the DeShano Community Foundation’s support. This grant enables us to enhance our Recovery Center model in Gladwin, offering a welcoming space where people can drop-in when they need help, meet with a caring treatment team, engage with recovery coaches who understand the struggle, and find support. At Ten16, we know that recovery works better in community and this gift will make that so much better for the people of Gladwin.”
The DeShano Community Foundation has a history of investing in the Gladwin community. Notably, the Foundation significantly contributed to the Sacred Heart Mission in memory of their founding patriarch, Gary DeShano. This donation facilitated a 60×80 expansion of the Mission, enhancing its capacity to serve those in need within Gladwin County.
This latest grant to Ten16 Recovery Network reflects the Foundation’s enduring dedication to fostering a healthier, more supportive community environment in Gladwin County.
