Forest Therapy Trail Update

Forest Therapy Trail Update

A Collaborative Success!

We are excited to provide you with an update on the Forest Therapy Trail at Ten16 Recovery Network’s residential facility. This project has been made possible through the invaluable collaboration with the Chippewa Nature Center and contributions & volunteers from the Midland County United Way.

A Vision in the Woods

Our Forest Therapy Trail, nestled within the 10 acres of picturesque woods behind our facility, is coming to life. It will bring a new dimension to our recovery programs and enhance the therapeutic environment we offer. This project embodies the power of nature in healing and wellness, providing our residents with a serene and immersive experience as part of their journey to recovery.

Key Developments

  • Trail Construction: The trail is well underway, with initial paths and clearings now established. Our team, alongside volunteers from Midland County United Way and experts from the Chippewa Nature Center, has worked diligently to create a safe, accessible, and inspiring route that meanders through the forest.
  • Therapeutic Elements: We are incorporating various elements to enhance the therapeutic experience. These include mindfulness stations, calming natural features, and interactive points that encourage reflection and connection with nature.
  • Educational Features: The trail will feature informational signs and educational materials about local flora and fauna, promoting a deeper appreciation for the natural world and supporting holistic wellness.

Community Collaboration

This project is a testament to the strength of community partnerships. The expertise of the Chippewa Nature Center and the support of the Midland County United Way have been instrumental in bringing this vision to fruition. Their dedication and contributions create a space that will benefit our residents and the broader community.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, we will continue to develop and refine the trail, adding finishing touches and ensuring that it meets the highest standards of safety and accessibility. We anticipate the Forest Therapy Trail opening and being dedicated on Ten16 Day (Wed, Oct 16, 2024), and we look forward to welcoming our residents and community members to experience its calming and restorative benefits.
