On the job recovery - makes you a better employee!
Ten16 understands that getting back to work is both helpful and stressful for someone early in recovery. There is a built in pride that comes through work, and being able to take care of yourself and your personal responsibilities. It can be a challenge for anyone to find a good job. However, when a person has been in active addiction, work histories can be very erratic. Maybe a person had dropped out of school and needs their GED. For some, legal issues can get in the way. It brings a lot of stress and frustration, and can cause relapse. Overcoming these challenges can be a hard one to do on your own.
Ten16 offers the Fresh Start Program where a person can work with our Employment Specialist. Our staff will meet with the individual and put together a plan for employment, help put a resume together, and connect the person with community resources. We know the local employers that are willing to take a chance on good people in early recovery. We also offer different employment and life skills to make you a better employee, help you grow and get promoted by being the type of employee that employers want.
But it doesn't stop there. Living in recovery must become part of every aspect of your life, including your work life. Recovery isn't just what you do at your meetings or with your coach/sponsor. It is learning how to cope with stress and the demands of the work place without relapsing. Therefore, we also offer peer support services to guide you through your job and keep you moving forward.
Currently, the Fresh Start Program is only offered at our Midland office.
